As a premier retail design agency, we were commissioned by the Belgian master chocolatier Leonidas to develop a strategic and scalable new store design concept. The primary goal was to future-proof the brand’s physical presence to support ambitious global growth while honouring its rich heritage and reputation for quality.

Our engagement began with a rigorous process of insight and strategy. We conducted extensive market immersion, touring existing stores across key markets like the UK, France, and Belgium, and studying best-in-class confectionery retailers. This research allowed us to build a robust understanding of market standards and identify key opportunities for innovation and refinement in the in-store customer experience.

The core strategy centred on creating a clear decision-making hierarchy, ensuring shoppers could easily navigate the space and discover their favourites while simultaneously celebrating the sheer abundance of choice Leonidas offers. The resulting cutting-edge retail design concept successfully reimagined the entire customer journey, enhancing product discovery and engagement. This comprehensive solution, complete with a scalable design framework and the creation of Global Retail Toolkits, ensures premium brand consistency across their international network. Ultimately, this new store concept positions Leonidas for sustained international expansion and invites customers into an immersive, contemporary chocolate world.

Following on from the successful House of Colour Play interior retail store design concept launch, ETUDE wanted to revisit the sweet and playful aesthetic of the brand’s roots with a renewed retail identity. To appeal to today’s more digitally native customers we were asked to transform the retail store environment focusing on the experience and introducing digital retail content from the brand’s online world.

The client wanted a best-in-class global store concept that presents shopping as a fun, engaging, and completely omni-channel experience. We were tasked with building a playground of cosmetic retail that layers experiential and interactive elements to redefine the role of physical retail in the beauty sector.

Design4Retail were engaged to provide creative and strategic services to ensure the heart of the concept shone through – playful pink, personalisation, digital content, and engaging display tools to help customers discover their perfect colour products!

Play, discovery, and choice are at the heart of the store activity. Our concept creates a home for customers – a house of beauty and a place for dreaming. Filled with texture, innovative VM, and personalisation opportunities the retail identity is a playground for makeup. You will find the new store concept in the flagship store in Sinchon-dong, Seoul, South Korea with future store/s to follow.

Interior Store Design - ETUDE House

We partnered with Korea Town to execute a transformative rebrand and develop a new, scalable store design concept. The goal was to elevate the regional K-Beauty retailer into a premium, global contender, appealing specifically to Gen Z and Millennial audiences in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region, starting with a first flagship store in Kuwait. Our work began with intensive on-site analysis and market research, positioning Korea Town as “The Disruptive Curator” of K-Beauty. This insight-driven brand strategy guided the creation of a dynamic and immersive brand world that celebrated innovation, authenticity, and abundance.

The new retail design concept redefined the customer journey, transforming the store into a cultural destination. Key design features included an innovative colour palette, Ultra Violet, Matcha Green, and Iridescence, and integrated lighting to enhance product discovery and storytelling.

This comprehensive solution, which focused on omnichannel readiness and operational efficiency, provides Korea Town with a robust new retail identity and a successful blueprint for ambitious regional and global expansion, validated by its successful debut at The Gate Mall, Kuwait.

At Design4Retail, we were delighted to partner with pureseoul to develop a new store design concept for their exciting retail expansion journey, which began with their flagship location at Westfield, White City. Our core mission was to establish pureseoul as the definitive UK destination for K-Beauty expertise, celebrating an extensive range of brands in an environment that was both inviting and accessible. Our process was founded on a robust brand strategy that centred on community, inclusivity, and inspiring customers. We translated these pillars into the “Playful Sky-Scape” concept—a serene and welcoming space for both K-Beauty fans and curious newcomers.

The store design utilises a soft palette of blue tones, soft whites, and warm nudes, contrasted with whimsical details like cloud-inspired curved tabletops and ambient lighting. Crucially, every fixture incorporates a “free-dress” approach, ensuring the store remains highly adaptable and future-ready for showcasing fluctuating stock, trending products, and new brand launches. This immersive, flexible, and cohesive design successfully elevates the physical retail experience, providing pureseoul with a powerful and scalable platform for future growth.

We partnered with Montirex, a brand born in the Northwest, to launch their first-ever flagship store design at Liverpool ONE. Our core mission was to cement brand awareness, elevate brand perception, and provide a unique, community-focused space that honoured their exponential rise. As a leading retail design agency, we established a powerful brand concept centred on “moral commerce”, a strategy focused on giving back to the community and empowering future generations. The resulting retail identity needed to embody their “challenge accepted” spirit, distinguishing it from traditional flagship locations.

The final store design features a clean, monochromatic envelope with a premium finish, emphasising their iconic logo and motivational graphic communications. Key to the experience is flexibility: we integrated modular ‘X’ branded fixtures on wheels for endless layout versatility to accommodate new product drops. Furthermore, we installed a prominent tiered seating area that functions as a multifunctional community hub and product display, alongside a magnetic community board to foster local engagement. The façade, with its digital window display, offers a striking introduction to the brand’s blend of sport, style, and adventure. Through efficient project management, we delivered a compelling brand experience that fully engages the loyal Liverpool community.

Following the success of the flagship, we are grateful for the ongoing partnership as we continue to realise the Montirex brand concept through new channels. Our subsequent work involves translating this high-impact branded space design into shop-in-shops within JD Sports.

This expansion allows Montirex to scale its unique aesthetic and community-focused approach, ensuring consistency and strong visibility across key retail partner locations.
