Shipping Container Takeover

As part of our ongoing partnership with VUSE, we applied our creative concept to transform a shipping container into a VUSE Inspiration Store at BOXPARK in Shoreditch.

Design4Retail were invited to deliver a brand-immersive, omnichannel retail activation with an elevated customer experience. Using our creative concept, we incorporated a colour and material palette consisting of oak veneer, black, grey, and concrete effect cladding into the pop-up shop’s design. From a Flavour Zone and a Personalisation Zone to a Trial and Education Zone, we zoned the long and narrow retail space to determine an effective customer journey.

BOXPARK shoppers are met with a bold storefront exhibiting a white print VUSE logo on a black DiBond header, and welcomed into an entirely 3D and brand-immersive store experience via a hologram broadcasting exciting VUSE-branded content – the first of many digital touchpoints in the pop-up’s customer journey. An intuitive customer flow guides customers to a personalisation station where they can choose from a range of vapes which they can subsequently get engraved with the brand’s VUSE x U service. Venturing further into the store, customers can experience all the features of the Trial & Education Zone, from a testing booth with tester trays of vape liquid, privacy fins, tablet devices, and large screens displaying cinematic content, to a product consultation area complete with coffee-making facilities. Lastly, customers can select their favourite flavours from the eye-catching Flavour Wall in the Flavour Zone.


Using the brand’s guidelines, we delivered an interactive customer journey using strong vinyl zone callouts for effective category design and intuitive wayfinding to help the brand to really tell its story. This premium brand experience pop-up will be available to Shoreditch shoppers for an entire year. Similarly to VUSE’s kiosks, the success of the pop-up will be measured by the volume of signups that the brand can achieve to their subscription model from this location. VUSE will use this data to drive their bricks-and-mortar retail strategy going forward.
