Who Are Generation Zalpha? _
To Be Youth-Focused Is To Be Future-Focused...
… so let’s talk about Generation Zalpha.
1) GEN ZALPHA ARE A HYBRID GENERATION
Zalpha refers to 9-14-year-olds – a combination of gen z and gen alpha children.
2) THEY ARE LARGELY CHILDREN OF MILLENNIALS
As children of millennials, this hybrid generation has picked up several familiar traits such as digital savviness, social goodness, will power, and economic resilience.
3) THEY WEILD SIGNIFICANT ‘PESTER’ POWER
Much of Zalpha’s spending power still lies with their parents – but this is not to say they have limited influence. Between the ages of 9-14, children are forming their own identities, with many already choosing their own clothes, toys and tech, food preferences, and so on.
4) THEY ARE DIGITAL NATIVES
Not only have Zalphas naturally learnt about all-things digital from their tech-savvy parents but they have grown up in a world where digital devices are essential to carrying out important everyday tasks, from completing school work to staying connected with family and friends.
5) THEY ARE WISE BEYOND THEIR YEARS
With a wealth of information at their fingertips and a constant connection to influential online activists advocating for a plethora of social agendas and support for the environment, gen Zalpha are conscious of more subject matters (and their complexity) than previous generations were at the same age.
6) THEY ARE QUICKLY OUTGROWING WEB 2.0
Often growing up with around-the-clock access to the internet and embracing new apps and functionalities using AR and AI, Zalphas are continually seeking more from the IoT! Zalphas are not only embracing Web 3.0 options, such as Minecraft, Decentraland and Roblox, but they are thriving with their flexible avatar identities.
