Berghaus x Size?

On Saturday 20st August 2022, Size? hosted a day-long music event at the O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester – a city renowned for its music and fashion culture making it the perfect hub to unite streetwear and Grime/Rap fans.

Size? collaborated with several sports and lifestyle brands including Nike’s Jordan, Puma, The North Face and Berghaus, to deliver individual bespoke room sets for the event. The festival allowed the Size? community to experience performances from a wide range of globally recognised artists to industry newcomers. As a long-standing client of ours, D4R were delighted to support Berghaus with both the creative direction and implementation of their branded room for the festival.

The creative vision explored a range of monochromatic concepts to promote brand awareness throughout the event. The bold yet minimalist look and feel consisted of striking typography, urban architecture, and aluminium features, resulting in an overarching industrial feel with a hint of futurism.

After discussion with the client, the chosen concept for the festival comprised of several graphic panels to clad the columns, which would sit on central monochrome vinyl flooring. Designed by our artworkers, the flooring used varying scales of the Berghaus logo, complemented by similar typographic-style panelling on the surrounding walls.

To link the futuristic theme with the industrial environment, the ceiling featured suspended lightweight ducting, woven together for both effect and stability. This design feature became a key focal point of the space and proved even more impressive when the polychromatic UV lighting hit the aluminium material, reflecting light in a way which would set the mood for the event.

Lastly, located on the back wall sat an oversized 3D Berghaus logo crafted using E Flute Card. The contrast between the brick wall backdrop and the stark white lettering allowed for the continuation of a bold aesthetic! And, of course, the event wouldn’t be complete without the DJ booth!

It was a long day for the installation team as they worked hard to get everything ready in time for launch, but they thoroughly enjoyed working on this fun Berghaus event project – as did the rest of the team!

Kudos to Size? for organising such an exciting and lively event!

Every trend has an opposite, a counterpart that is its antithesis, and these ‘design dualities’ is precisely what our latest insight report explores. Delving into these dualities is not merely about style; it’s decoding the unspoken conversation of fractured communities, seeking pathways for bridge building through forms that reflect our division.
