E-commerce brands are increasingly tapping into in-person retail experiences to boost brand awareness and create a sense of exclusivity. While consumers rely on these brands to elevate their shopping experience, they also crave spaces where they can engage directly with products and learn more about them. This has led to a rise in immersive, sensory-driven retail environments, that allow customers to fully experience the brand and its products in a memorable, hands-on way.

Future stores

Future Stores is an immersive retail platform that aims to seamlessly integrate digital and AI with retail, to redefine the shopping experience. Making their UK debut on Oxford Street, they collaborated with US tech giant, Intel, to host a one-of-a-kind retail space. Following their exclusive launch, the pop-up destination welcomed their collaborator as their first trading resident with their latest AI technology. In the coming months, the space will host a rotating selection of brands and retailers, spanning fashion, beauty, and a variety of other product categories, with occupants changing every two to six weeks.

The concept store immerses the consumer into a dynamic, interactive experience, using an variety of digital screens. Visual enhancement will allow for the digital consumer to build an emotional connection with the brand through storytelling, that propels into real time.

The future of AI

With floor to ceiling LED displays, their first brand activation showcased the possibilities of AI and the atmosphere it could create. Using the screens to create conversation, it leverages the art of dynamic advertisement to entice others into the store – although AI technology cannot always be seen.

Throughout the space, advanced technology captures the data of shoppers’ behaviour and tracks footfall, eventually evolving into age and gender demographics in 2025. Tracking these metrics brings brands new insight into how they can push boundaries and understand how customers are interacting with their brand, creating a new future for physical retail and its possibilities. Within their retail systems, the store also offers a basement that has a smart stockroom which includes an integrated payment system that creates a seamless process for brand retailers to work with.
