Here at Design 4 Retail we are well known for our POP and window displays and have created many retail design ideas for companies such as Selfridges, Joules and Fred Perry.
When Design 4 Retail work on a window display we usually have a large space to work with and we will often use display props such as mannequins and clothing.
The main reason for a window display is to display products and draw people in to buy product and part with their hard earned cash.
Window displays need to be attractive to the customer and draw customers into the shop. In this case however the window displays will be used to disguise the empty shops and not to draw people into the retail outlet.
The local borough council for Boston in Lincolnshire are offering their residents the chance to become retail designers for the day.
They are inviting entries from the general public to design a piece of artwork up to A1 in size, which can be then be blown up into vinyl graphics to create an artistic window display.
These window displays are then going to be used in unoccupied shop windows as a window display rather than having unsightly empty shop windows.
Rather than sell a product or draw people into the shop they will be used as an artistic display to make the town brighter and more attractive than an bare open space.
