It’s as ridiculous as it sounds. Imagine wandering down your local high street doing your regular window-licking and you spot a couple of sheep roaming around in a shop window munching on some weeds.

As part of an arts installation in Corby, Northamptonshire by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art Gallery a couple of sheep were provided by a local farmer to fill an empty shop unit and allowed to graze there upon a rural wildflower (read “weeds”) meadow in an urban landscape.
Based at 66 Corporation Street in Corby town centre, opposite McDonalds, the installation is called “I want nature” and is part of an ongoing study into weeds by artist Jacques Nimki.
Taking place over a month, the shop window installation will display the life cycle of wildflowers with the additional dynamic of live sheep trotting about.
One passer-by thought that the window display was promoting a new butcher’s shop and was sadly disappointed!
In addition to the sheep, members of the public will be able to participate also in the free “meadow dancing” events to be held on Saturdays from 11am until 4pm.
If you fancy popping along to take part in the party in the pastures, give them a tinkle on 01536 373469 to book a slot. D4R will see you there!
