d4r HELPS MAKE LEARNING FUN WITH LEAPFROG LAUNCH.Friday, 31 July 2009

Have you heard, we’ve been asked to create child friendly merchandise units to showcase the ‘LeapFrog Tag and Tag Junior’, a new touch reading system which will be launched across the entire estate of Early Learning Centre stores exclusively from late June.  A further 35 units will also be sold to other markets including Canada.

The LeapFrog Tag & Tag Junior reading systems allow ‘words to talk’, ‘pictures to sing’ and ‘stories to come to life’. As children touch the tag reader on specially printed storybook pages, a small camera in the tip of the reader allows them to hear favourite characters talk, pictures to come alive and to hear words on the page spoken aloud – making learning to read more fun.

Chris Clewes, Key Account Manager, D4R, comments: “LeapFrog asked us to create units that would really make an impact in Early Learning Centre stores, that would engage children just like their products. This is no easy task in the very ‘hands on’ environment that is the Early Learning Centre store.

“Since the Tag Reader is organically designed we decided to reflect this in the two unit types we have created, one large and one small. Our brightly coloured green and orange spinners feature vacuum formed trays to allow for the easy display of products. The new design also offers a greater capacity of product to be shown, a maximum of 32 pieces of software across 8 different properties can be held per shelf giving a total of 96 pieces along with 12 pieces of hardware at the base (on the large spinner for example).

“We not only wanted to make the units stand out, but to fit perfectly into the store environment, all Early Learning Centre stores have recently been rebranded introducing a lot of light timber, particularly in store shelving, so we chose the same light timber to feature in our units too.

“We feel that the new merchandiser not only communicates the LeapFrog brand, but will create a real focus in-store and most importantly, generate sales.”

The entire roll-out with Early Learning Centre stores will take two weeks to complete
