D4R Sets Blueprint For Nevisport Stores.Tuesday, 09 September 2008

Leicestershire based retail design specialists, Design4Retail have been awarded a contract with Nevisport to design the brand’s new Kendal store, establishing a ‘blueprint’ for all future stores. The store which opens on the 8th September will comprise of 900m2 of retail space over two floors in a prime position in the heart of the town.

Nevisport has 10 stores nationally and in October 2007 the company was acquired by the Jacobs and Turner group of companies whose strong financial base will provide resources to support a roll out programme, thereby strengthening the company’s presence on the high street and enabling it to further supply multi-brand products to the consumer.

Design4Retail have worked with Nevisport for the last three months to help develop the brand’s retail identity moving forward. The project also includes the development of new merchandising equipment and counters which will be used to feature premium performance brands such as Berghaus, North Face and Trespass in prominent positions around the store.

Tim Howitt, Director, Design4Retail, comments: “We are really pleased to have been chosen to support Nevisport with their re-design programme. What we want to achieve is an evolution of a brand that already has a strong following to bring it right up to date.

“We’re also responsible for more than the design itself, we are overseeing the entire project; from stripping the building to the installation of a new merchandise retail system. Nevisport is all about high quality products and expert customer advice, it was important that this was reflected in-store.

“We have responded by using quality natural slate and timber flooring to literally bring the outdoors in, together with more technical looking metal and laminate finishes, all complemented by clean modern crisp white backgrounds allowing product to really stand out.

“The first floor windows have been used to great effect to create an 8m x 2m segmented light box which will be used for advertising powerful outdoor graphics – these images will be also be repeated throughout the store.  The main street level store display windows will also feature a ‘free dress display system’ with hanging banners providing an eye-catching backdrop for merchandise, encouraging passers-by to enter the store.
